What is an IMPACT?
An IMPACT (Integrated Model for Prevention Across Communities Together) Specialist is a committed and trained Prevention Specialist assigned to a school district to support the development of a comprehensive prevention strategy. IMPACT Specialists work collaboratively with students, staff, parents, and community members to promote healthy decision-making and foster a positive school climate.
The Alcohol and Drug Awareness Council (ADAC) is dedicated to reducing the impact of substance use disorders through education, advocacy, and prevention. We work to decrease stigma, support individuals and families affected by substance use, and empower communities with the knowledge and resources needed to prevent substance misuse before it begins.
Using evidence-based programs and curricula, IMPACT Specialists promote healthy social and emotional development by strengthening protective factors and reducing risk factors among youth. Through prevention education, community engagement, and ongoing support, IMPACT Specialists help students build the skills and resilience needed to make healthy choices while serving as a valuable resource for schools, families, and the community.
