Mid-Hudson Prevention Resource Center (MHPRC)

 

The Mid-Hudson Prevention Resource Center (MHPRC) was established in 2009 as an New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) initiative to be an intermediary supplier of training and technical assistance to community coalitions across New York State.

Located at the Alcohol & Drug Awareness Council of Orange County, the MHPRC serves Sullivan, Ulster, Dutchess, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland and Orange Counties.

What can the MHPRC do for you?

  • Consultation addressing the issues of substance use in community settings.
  • Guide and assist community coalitions with the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) to increase the effectiveness of substance use prevention
  • Provide specific community coalition trainings on stages of the SPF, environmental strategies and evidence-based programs

When should YOU reach out to the MHPRC?

  • When you want to learn more about substance use and the effects it can have in your community.
  • When members of your community feel substance use is prevalent in your area but do not know what to do about it.
  • When community members have already begun to take action against substance use and could use guidance and technical assistance.
  • When coalition members are unsure about how to engage with diverse sectors of your community.
  • When coalition members want to increase their capacity and community participation.
  • When your community already has a successful coalition and would like to learn more about sustaining the positive impacts and outcomes of their prevention efforts.
  • When you want to connect to others in the substance use prevention field who may have additional resources.
