Denise Hulse-Port Jervis City School District

My journey with ADAC began as a volunteer photographer at community events and by creating bows for Red Ribbon events. Through this volunteer work, I quickly became aware of the vital role ADAC plays in serving Orange County. It wasn’t long before I joined the agency as a part-time employee, which gave me an even deeper understanding of the important services and support ADAC provides to schools, organizations, families, and individuals throughout the community.

As I became more involved, my passion for prevention continued to grow. Drawing from my own family’s experiences with addiction, I discovered my personal “why” and felt called to make a difference.

Today, I am proud to serve as a full-time IMPACT Prevention Specialist for the Port Jervis City School District. Born and raised in Port Jervis and a graduate of Port Jervis High School, I have the honor and privilege of walking the halls of the very schools I once attended. Each day, I have the opportunity to share the important message of prevention with current students and give back to the community that helped shape me.

To me, this is far more than a job—it is a blessing and an opportunity to make a meaningful impact. The work I do brings me joy and purpose every single day.

ADAC is proud to be an OASAS Prevention Provider, dedicated to reducing adolescent substance use through education and awareness efforts in the community.
