Natalie Gatto – Valley Central School District

Hi! My name is Natalie Gatto, and I am a full-time IMPACT Prevention Specialist in the Valley Central School District. I have worked at ADAC for over three years, beginning as a per diem Prevention Educator and eventually working my way into a full-time position in the district where I attended school.

I work with students of all ages, teaching Too Good for Violence and Too Good for Drugs in the elementary schools one day and supporting middle and high school students the next. In my role, I strive to be a trusted adult for many students. I work with those experiencing substance use concerns, open my room during lunch every day, stay after school to provide additional support, and facilitate journaling and SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) clubs.

I also aim to make prevention education fun. Through activities, incentives, volunteer opportunities, and creative learning experiences, I encourage students to think critically about their choices and their futures. My goal is not only to teach students what not to do, but also to help them discover positive, healthy alternatives and opportunities for personal growth, leadership, and community involvement. I am deeply passionate about helping students throughout the Valley Central community.

Currently, I am pursuing my Master of Social Work (MSW), CASAC-T certification, and CPP credential. I am committed to continuing my education and professional development so I can better serve the needs of the students, families, and community. My motto is simple: if I can make a positive IMPACT in just one person’s life or brighten their day, then I have done my job.

ADAC is proud to be an OASAS Prevention Provider, dedicated to reducing adolescent substance use through education and awareness efforts in the community.
